ITINERARY

Arrive at Bagdogra Airport/Railway station. Our representative will meet and greet you and then complete with the Pre-registration formalities of the individual at the Immigration counter, Next transfer to hotel.

Drive to Thimphu, stopping en route at Chuzom, the scenic confluence of the Thimphu and Paro rivers, beautifully adorned with three distinct styles of stupas representing Tibetan, Nepalese, and Bhutanese architecture. Upon arrival in Thimphu, check in to your hotel and relax before heading out for an afternoon of sightseeing in the picturesque Thimphu Valley. Visit Buddha Dordenma at Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), where you can offer prayers at the country’s largest Buddha statue while enjoying panoramic views of the valley. Continue to the iconic National Memorial Chorten, a revered landmark built in memory of Bhutan’s third king, His Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, and dedicated to world peace and prosperity. The chorten is constantly filled with devotees circumambulating and chanting prayers. The tour further includes visits to the National Library of Bhutan, home to a rich collection of ancient Buddhist manuscripts, and the Institute for Zorig Chusum, where students are trained in Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts and crafts. Later, explore the Textile Museum to gain insight into Bhutan’s unique textile traditions, followed by a visit to Simply Bhutan Museum, an interactive living museum showcasing the vibrant cultural heritage and lifestyle of the Bhutanese people.
Overnight stay at the hotel in Thimphu

After breakfast, drive to Wangdue Phodrang (Wangdi). Before departing from Thimphu, visit 2–3 of the city's key attractions. The journey to Punakha takes you through the scenic Dochu La Pass (3,080 m / 10,102 ft), offering breathtaking views of the Bhutanese Himalayas and surrounding valleys. En route, stop at the famous Dochu La Pass, home to the 108 memorial stupas known as the Druk Wangyal Chortens, built by Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck, the eldest Queen Mother of Bhutan. Upon arrival in Punakha, visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful and historically significant fortresses, and Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Fertility Temple. Wangdue Phodrang, the last major town before entering Central Bhutan, offers charming landscapes and traditional Bhutanese culture.
After sightseeing, proceed to your hotel in Punakha for check-in and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Paro. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax before proceeding for afternoon sightseeing. Visit Ta Dzong, originally built as a watchtower and now home to Bhutan’s National Museum. The museum houses an impressive collection of antique Thangkha paintings, traditional textiles, weapons and armour, household artefacts, and an extensive display of natural and historical treasures that offer deep insight into Bhutanese culture and heritage. Following the museum visit, enjoy a short walk downhill to the magnificent Rinpung Dzong, also known as Paro Dzong, meaning the “Fortress of the Heap of Jewels.” Steeped in history and architectural grandeur, the dzong is adorned with beautiful wooden galleries and intricate wall paintings depicting Buddhist teachings and legends, including the Four Friends, the Wheel of Life, scenes from the life of Milarepa, Mount Sumeru, and various cosmic mandalas. After the sightseeing tour, return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Paro.

After breakfast, embark on an excursion to the iconic Paro Taktsang, popularly known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, involving an approximate five-hour hike through scenic mountain trails. Perched dramatically on a cliffside nearly 900 metres above the Paro Valley, this sacred monastery is one of Bhutan’s most revered landmarks. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at the site, giving the monastery its famous name. Recognised as a deeply spiritual destination, it was visited by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646 and continues to be a pilgrimage site for Bhutanese devotees. Although a devastating fire in 1998 severely damaged the main structure, the monastery has since been meticulously restored to its original splendour. In the afternoon, drive to Drukgyel Dzong, a historic ruined fortress where Bhutanese warriors once defended the kingdom against Tibetan invaders. From the approach road, enjoy magnificent views of the sacred snow-capped peak Mount Jomolhari, revered as the “Mountain of the Goddess.” Later in the evening, visit the ancient Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples built in the Himalayas by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century, marking the introduction of Buddhism into Bhutan.
Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Paro.

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Phuentsholing. En route, visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum of Bhutan, originally constructed as a watchtower and converted into the country’s national museum in 1967. The museum houses a fascinating collection of traditional art, historical artefacts, Thangkha paintings, ancient weapons, textiles, and Bhutan’s exquisite postage stamps, offering valuable insight into the kingdom’s rich cultural heritage. Following the museum visit, enjoy a short walk down the trail to the historic Rinpung Dzong, a magnificent fortress-monastery renowned for its striking Bhutanese architecture and deep historical significance. After the sightseeing tour, continue the drive to Phuentsholing and check in to the hotel for an overnight stay.

After breakfast and check-out, it is time to bid farewell to the beautiful Kingdom of Bhutan after a memorable and enriching journey. Proceed to the Phuentsholing Gate for exit formalities before continuing your onward drive to Bagdogra for your flight or train journey back home.
